Our landscape department has grown from simple color change outs and mulching to full scale design and install. We now have a landscape architect on staff to handle the whole department. Michael Patrick O'Connor joined us this fall—much to our delight. Not only does he have his master's degree in landscape architecture and more licenses than you can count—but he also loves plants! When he mentioned how much he liked to use old roses and perennials in his designs, we knew we had a great match. Michael is fully capable of starting at ground zero for new construction, but I think he really enjoys renovating existing gardens. He's a master at pruning and trimming and basically rejuvenating old stock. This is a skill in much demand in the older gardens around New Orleans.
